SUMMARY:Holocaust Memorial Day Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Yom Hashoah is when Israel and Jewish communities remember the victims of the Holocaust.  On May 1st\, the closest Sunday to Yom Hashoah this year\, we will be running a special workshop for the young people in 3 local Jewish communities\, in school years 8 to 10.  This will provide the opportunity for the young people and their parents to hear a survivor’s story\, participate in a question and answer session\, watch a short film and take part in a related group activity which focuses on creating a better world for the future. \nThe format of the morning will be very similar to that of the workshops we have run for the past ten years for local Kingston and Elmbridge schools (the very successful joint project of the two Kingston synagogues) and will be held at Kingston Liberal Synagogue.   We have long thought that our own synagogue students were missing out on these workshops\, and we hope you will take advantage of this opportunity.  To assist in the organisation of the morning we would appreciate your attendance confirmation by Thursday\, April 14th.

SUMMARY:Beiteinu - Religion School - Purim fun this week!
DESCRIPTION:The school uses the principles of Informal Education to teach a religious knowledge and Hebrew curriculum to over 50 pupils aged between 5-17. DESCRIPTION:Usually once or twice monthly on Tuesdays @ 8pm \nThe KLS Choir rehearses once or twice a month (and enjoy tea\, cake and chat!)\, and sings at the monthly music service on the 4th Friday of the month and at other services.  You don’t have to read music\, you don’t have to read Hebrew.  Come and try it!  Singing is a great way to meet people\, blow away life’s cobwebs\, contribute to KLS\, learn about our prayers and about Jewish music.  Interested?  Contact Sandra Webber via the KLS office.

DESCRIPTION:Music Service led by Vince Daly and the KLS Choir\, and featuring KLS members Maya and David Aviram who will reveal their choice of music as part of our regular Shabbat Island Discs feature\, which takes place on the fourth Friday night of each month.  As usual in these services the guests will be interviewed\, and this is a great opportunity to find out more about your fellow congregants. \nBring something to share for kiddush afterwards! \nBoth members and guests can take a turn at choosing the music.
