DESCRIPTION:Monthly 1st Friday of  the month\nYou are warmly invited to this year’s Chavurah Suppers\, a great way to relax\, let go of the week and welcome in Shabbat with other KLS members. Using the LJ Youth Siddur\, we will be singing together\, sharing our stories from the week that has gone\, de-stressing\, and most importantly sharing food\, in an informal Friday night service and shared supper.  Please bring a plated vegetarian or fish supper and\, if possible\,  a favourite dish to share.  All ages welcome. \nThis month we are celebrating the festival of Tu B’Shvat with a seder.  What is Tu B’Shvat?  On the first of Shevat is the New Year for Trees according to the words of the House of Shammai; the House of Hillel says\, on the fifteenth thereof (Mishnah\, Rosh Hashanah 1:1).  For more information\, come along to the supper\, and also click on this link to read more. \nGuests are welcome to services @ KLS\, but please contact the office beforehand. \n

SUMMARY:Beiteinu and Shabbatots
DESCRIPTION:Beiteinu – Religion School\n\n\nThe school uses the principles of Informal Education to teach a religious knowledge and Hebrew curriculum to pupils aged between 5-16. We also have a developing early years’ programme\, Shabbatots\, which runs monthly when we have Family Services. \n  \nThe children have a short breaktime – please bring fruit for the snack.  There is a short assembly for all children each week\, and teaching in year groups.  Music\, art and Hebrew teaching feature for children in primary school. \n  \nThe 12-13 year olds prepare for B’nei Mitzvah\, then complete their Beiteinu experience in the Kabbalat Torah class. \n\nInterested in bringing your child to Beiteinu?  Please contact the office and we can arrange for you to talk to the Rabbi and the Beiteinu Head Teacher.

DESCRIPTION:Weekly 1 1/2 hour class on Thursdays 7-8.30pm\nStay sharp. Be fit. Burn 1000 calories. Look after yourself. \nRabbi and Chair discuss deep theological issues\nBe aware\, confident\, safe! Burn calories and improve fitness! \nAdult self-defence classes (Urban Krav Maga) run on most Thursdays at 7pm. \nAn additional warm up takes place at 7.30pm. \nSessions last for 90 mins. \nFirst class free – but please book in advance via the office. \nKrav Maga is great for confidence\, awareness\, exercise\, stress-relief\, fitness and self defence.  You don’t have to be fit to start but your fitness will improve.  Geared to mixed ages and abilities\, beginners welcome.  cost- £10 per session\, paid directly to the external trainer.  Please contact the KLS Office for more information or if you would like to try Krav Maga.

SUMMARY:Purim - Megillah reading
DESCRIPTION:Join Rabbi René in celebrating the festival of Purim in the traditional way: The megillah (scroll) containing the book of Esther is read in synagogues to a congregation which is attired in fancy dress\, and who boo\, pantomime style\, whenever Haman’s name is mentioned\, making noise to blot out his name.
