KLS Book Group

The Book Group will be discussing Berlin Days by George Clare, father of a KLS member.  The book describes his experiences in 1946-47 working for the British Military Government and the Allied Control Commission in Berlin.  After being used as an interpreter for interrogating Nazis, he became responsible for denazification in culture and the media, establishing Germany’s new independent press, under the title of British Press Controller, Intelligence Section of British Information Services Control, Berlin.   The book provides a vivid portrait of the city and its post-war inhabitants.
