Holocaust Memorial Day Workshop
1 May 2016 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Yom Hashoah is when Israel and Jewish communities remember the victims of the Holocaust. On May 1st, the closest Sunday to Yom Hashoah this year, we will be running a special workshop for the young people in 3 local Jewish communities, in school years 8 to 10. This will provide the opportunity for the young people and their parents to hear a survivor’s story, participate in a question and answer session, watch a short film and take part in a related group activity which focuses on creating a better world for the future.
The format of the morning will be very similar to that of the workshops we have run for the past ten years for local Kingston and Elmbridge schools (the very successful joint project of the two Kingston synagogues) and will be held at Kingston Liberal Synagogue. We have long thought that our own synagogue students were missing out on these workshops, and we hope you will take advantage of this opportunity. To assist in the organisation of the morning we would appreciate your attendance confirmation by Thursday, April 14th.
