Come join your SLLS friends in an old Shavuot tradition. In the context of a seder, using our Haggadah Shel Shavuot, we will use Tanach and Rabbinic Literature to deepen our understanding of the history and teachings of Shavuot. We will share some ritual foods such as a cheese mountain and some Torah shaped biscuits. On Shavuot we read from Ezekiel, “Mortal, eat what is offered you; eat this scroll, and go speak to the house of Israel.”  So I opened my mouth, and he gave me this scroll to eat, as he said to me, “Mortal, fill your stomach and your belly with this scroll that I give you.”  I ate it, and it tasted as sweet as honey to me. (Ezekiel 3:1-3).  The seder will be led by Rabbi Janet Darley.

The seder will include a supper, so bring something to share—and of course we’ll have cheesecake. Please Please contact the SLLS office if you plan to come, so that they know how big the cheese mountain needs to be!
